Terms of use

Last updated: 30 October 2026

1. Who we are

Ordinate 2D is provided by Solapsis, a sole proprietorship of Efe Kapukulak, Box E6862, Verdunplein 17, 5627 SZ Eindhoven, the Netherlands, KVK number not yet registered, [email protected].

2. The service

Ordinate 2D is a browser studio for 2D mechanics: a simulator, figures, graphs and exports. We keep improving it, so features can change. If we make a change that takes away something you paid for, we will announce it in advance and, if you ask, refund the unused part of your period.

3. Plans and licence

Free lets you build and run mechanisms in the studio and open the official templates, for personal use and testing. Pro adds the tools and exports listed on the pricing page and a licence to use what you make with them (figures, animations, exam sheets, data) for teaching, papers, books and commercial work. A Course plan gives Pro to the members of a course or department and is arranged with us by invoice. We may change what a plan includes; a change never reduces what you already paid for. Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, share one Pro account between several people, or use it to harm others.

4. Pro subscription, payment and cancelling

Pro is a subscription, monthly or yearly, that renews automatically until you cancel. Payments are handled by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our merchant of record: Paddle is the seller of the subscription, collects the payment and the VAT, sends your invoice and receipt, and its checkout buyer terms apply to your purchase. We never see your card details. Prices include VAT and are shown in the checkout before you pay.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in the studio under Account → Manage subscription. Pro then stays on until the end of the period you paid for, and does not renew.

Refunds. Within 14 days of a payment, ask us ([email protected]) or Paddle and you get a full refund. This is in addition to any statutory right of withdrawal you have as a consumer. See also the refund policy.

Changes of price. If the price of a subscription changes, we tell you at least 30 days before it affects your next payment, and you may cancel before then.

Failed payments. If a renewal fails, Paddle retries for a while. If it does not succeed, your subscription ends and the account goes back to Free. Your scenes are never deleted for this.

5. Your work

Scenes, figures, animations, plots and data you create belong to you. They are stored on your own device unless you choose to save them to your account; we do not receive them otherwise. Keep your own backups: save your scenes to a file regularly. If your Pro subscription ends, your scenes keep opening, running and saving; the Pro parts in them stay in the file but are locked until you subscribe again.

6. Results are not engineering certification

Simulations are numerical models. They can contain errors and simplifications. Do not rely on them alone for safety-critical decisions, structural design or anything where a wrong result could hurt people or cause loss. Check important results independently.

7. No warranty, limited liability

The tool is provided "as is", without promises about availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Solapsis is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, and its total liability towards you is limited to what you paid for Pro in the twelve months before the event. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

8. Third-party software

Ordinate 2D includes open-source components (among them MathJax, Pyodide and CodeMirror) under their own licences, which are kept with the files in the app.

9. Accounts, the marketplace and the forum

You must be 16 or older to have an account; younger students can use the studio without one. Keep your sign-in safe: whoever has your email can sign in, so do not share codes or links. What you publish in the marketplace and the forum is your responsibility and must follow the marketplace terms and the forum rules. If someone breaks them, or the law, we may hide their content or stop their publishing or posting, and in serious or repeated cases close their account; we tell them why and how to object. You can delete your account at any time (Account → Delete Account).

10. Personal data

See the privacy statement.

11. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will announce it on this page.
